ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Tommie Towsend of 718 Henry St., died Saturday in a 
hospital.

A native of Rocky Mount, he was the husband of Mrs. Beulah Townsend, and retired 
from Fargo Moving Van Co. after eight years. He was a Baptist and an Army 
veteran of World War II.

Besides his widow, survivors include a sister, Mrs. Louise Pittman of Cape 
Charles; a brother, Ray Pittman Sr. of Ricky Mount; an uncle, Ray Pittman of 
Rocky Mount, and a nephew, Ray Pittman Jr. of Hampton.

A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Chapel. The body will 
be cremated. Family and friends will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin 
Nellam, 956 Hanson Ave., Norfolk.
