Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, July 6, 2000 
Robert ``Bob'' Lee Townsend Sr. of the 900 block of Druid Circle passed away
June 29, 2000, after a long battle with prostrate cancer. Mr. Townsend served in
the Army for a brief period. He later opened a club called Korets on Church
Street, but is best known for his ownership and management of Bob's Lounge on
Brambleton Avenue which he ran for over two decades.

He is survived by his son, Robert L. Townsend Jr., and grandson, Robert L.
Townsend III.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in the chapel of Graves Funeral Home,
Norfolk. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery . Friends and family will
assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. for services.
