The Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 4, 1954
Mrs. Bruce Austin Tumbleson, 81, widow of Charles Howard Tumbleson and daughter 
of the Rev. Daniel B. and Mrs. Sallie Forbes, died at a Norfolk hospital 
yesterday at 10:55 a.m. She is survived by a grandson, Charles H. Tumbleson, of 
New Orleans, La.; a niece, Mrs. Ruth Blount, of Norfolk, and four nephews, 
William Baxter Austin, Avery J. Austin and George T. Austin, all of Norfolk and 
Marvin B. Austin, of Shephards.
Mrs. Tumbleson was a native of Roanoke Island, N.C. and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for 55 years, residing at 230 West 29th Street. She was a member of 
Park Place Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Saturday 
at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
