He was a retired employee of Smith Douglas Fertilizer Co. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Julia Turner of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and six brothers, Joshua Turner of New York, Cleothra Turner of Detroit, Lonnie Turner of Scotland Neck, N.C., Casper Turner Jr. and John Turner, both of Norfolk and Johnny Turner of Suffolk. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graves Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Roland Tisdale. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
