Mr. Turner was born in Washington, D.C. He was employed with Med-Claim Express in Virginia Beach and was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church, Bute Street, Norfolk. He was a 1987 graduate of Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, attended Hampton University, graduated from A & T University, Greensboro, N.C., in 1992, and matriculated at St. Louis University School of Law. Survivors include one daughter, Brittney Symonte Smith of Greensboro; his mother, Barbara A. Turner and father, Philip Turner, M.D. of Virginia Beach; one sister, Sheryl Turner of Virginia Beach; one brother, Philip Turner Jr. of Virginia; one sister-in-law, Mishawn Turner; and his fiancee, Wanda Simpson of High Point, N.C. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in St. John's A.M.E. Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. I.W. Knight Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Friday. Hale Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
