He was the husband of Mrs. Annie Nelson Turner and a son of James W. and Mrs. Lucy Joyner Turner. He owned and operated Tidewater Cleaners from 1921 until 1941. He was employed that afterward until retirement four years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church and its Men’s Bible Class. Besides his widow, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Turner Smith of Norfolk; two sons, Dr. Harold T. Turner of Pearisburg and Richard E. Turner of Norfolk; one sister, Miss Cora S. Turner of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday at 3 p.m., with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
