The Norfolk Virginian July 20, 1897
A week ago Mary, the little 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Turner 
who  live near the corner of Cumberland and Cove streets, received very severe 
burns  while playing with fire in the door yard.  Every effort was made to save 
her life, but her sufferings were ended by death  on Sunday night.  The funeral 
will be held at the residence this morning at 10  o'clock.
