Virginian Pilot March 23, 1909

John H. Turner died at his home on Broad Creek Road at 1 o'clock Sunday morning in 
the forty-eighth year of his age. The deceased was a native of Virginia and had 
resided in this section for twenty years. He is survived by a widow, one son and 
two daughters. The funeral was held from his late residence on Broad Creek Road at 
3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. T.J. Taylor, of the Queen 
Street Methodist Church. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
