Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, May 7, 2000 
Mary E. ``Dolly'' Tutt of the 7400 block of Hughart St. died May 4, 2000.

Born in Tappahannock, Va., she received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Union
University. She was a retired teacher from the Suffolk Public School System
after 35 years of service. She was a member of the National Teachers Association
which, in 1998, honored her as Teacher of the Year for Suffolk public schools.
She was also a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Norfolk.

She is survived by her former spouse Gary Tutt of Norfolk; a daughter, Rosalind
D. Johnson and husband, Emmett A. Johnson, of Hampton; a son, Terry A. Tutt and
wife, Valencia L. Tutt, of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Teresa M. Tutt and Kayla
B. Tutt, both of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends including
six special friends, Loretta Seed, Shirley Fowler, Emily Fowler, Alice Mae Gill,
Martha Grimes and Myrtle Bennett.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk,
by Pastor Robert Mason. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Family and
friends will assemble at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service,
Granby Street Chapel, is handling arrangements.
