Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 12, 1939

James Henry Twiford, aged 54, husband of Lelia Murden Twiford, died at the 
residence, 209 Chesapeake Street, Ocean View, yesterday morning at 5:35 
o’clock. Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, Thaddeus Twiford, 
Sr.; a sister, Mrs. A.E. Gilchrist, and two brothers, Hubert and Thaddeus 
Twiford, Jr., all of Norfolk. Mr. Twiford was a native and lifelong resident 
of Norfolk. He was a member of the Norfolk Fire Department, Protestant 
Mission and Elizabeth Camp 3 W.O.W.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home 
tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood.
