Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 27, 1923

Mrs. Elizabeth Simpson Twiford - Wife of John E. Twiford, died at 6:20 o'clock 
yesterday afternoon at the residence, 834 West Forty-first Street. She was in 
the sixty-first year of her age and was a native of Norfolk. She was a daughter 
of the late George W. and Annie Richardson Simpson. She is survived by her 
husband; a son, R. Twiford; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Hayes and 
a brother, J.E. Simpson, all of Norfolk. Funeral arrangements will be announced 
later.

Mrs. Elizabeth Simpson Twiford - Funeral services for Mrs. Twiford, wife of John 
E. Twiford, who died Monday evening at the residence, 834 West Forty-first 
Street, will be held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason 
Street, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. E.E. Dudley, of Park View 
Baptist Church, Portsmouth, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
