Mr. Tyler died Tuesday in a local hospital after an illness of three months. The Rev. J. B. Henderson will officiate at his rites. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The deceased, a Norfolk native and son of the late John W. Tyler and Mrs. Mary L. Tyler, would have been 57 years old on Dec. 1. He attended local schools and was graduated from Lincoln (PA) University. Later he attended Atlanta School of Social Work. Mr.Tyler worked for the Social Service Bureau and Juvenile Court in Norfolk and the Welfare Department in Richmond. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity and was a founder of the Kit Kats and Guardsmen. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary T. Henderson of Norfolk and Miss Leona Tyler of New York; two brothers, Wyckham Tyler of Boston and William Tyler of Detroit; a foster sister, Miss Thelma Gary of Norfolk; and other relatives.
