Mrs. Tyler was a native of Norfolk. She was the widow of James H. Tyler. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Norfolk. She was a member and past president of the Norfolk Junior League and a founder of the Norfolk Mental Hygiene Center. Survivors include two daughters, Calvert T. Lester of Virginia Beach and Eleanor T. Stanton of Virginia Beach; one brother, Charles F. Burroughs Jr. of Norfolk; five grandchildren, William MacKenzie Jenkins III, Jean Jenkins Watts, James Tyler Vail, Charles Abner Vail Jr. and Mary Chamberlaine Vail; and three great- grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. James W.H. Sell. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or to a charity of choice.
