Norfolk - Last rites were conducted for Ernest Tyler Sr. of 2425 Cottage avenue 
in First Calvary Baptist Church.  Dr. Milton Reid officiated.

Mr. Tyler died in a local hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Greenville, NC, he was the widower of Mrs. Nella Tyler and a son of 
the late Gilbert and Mrs. Rosa Tyler.

He leaves three sons, Willie H. Tyler of Monterey, CA;  Ernest W. Tyler Jr. and 
Vernon B. Tyler, both of Norfolk;  three stepdaughters, Mrs. Rosa R. McLennon, 
Mrs. Mary R. Berry, both of Norfolk and Mrs. Maria Smith of Newark, NJ and two 
brothers, Sterling Tyler of Jersey City NJ and Robert Tyler of Jarratt.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
