He was the son of Benjamin and Mrs. Mary Jane Chesson Tyson. A native of Carthage, N.C., he had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 43 years, residing at 1510 West Thirty-eighth street. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Frank Davis, Mrs. John Toolin and Mrs. Lewis Baxter, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Russell Borjes, of Atlanta; a son, Willard H. Tyson, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Williams, of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Phatha Fields and Mrs. Mattie Underwood, of Durham, N.C,; a brother, R.H. Tyson, of Braiford, Fla., and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. P. Rowland Wagner, pastor of Central Baptist Church, and the Rev. W.W. Grover, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate. The place of burial will be announced later.
