Norfolk Virginian Wednesday September 30, 1885

UPSHUR - At St. Vincent's Hospital on Monday night, Captain C.L. UPSHUR, 
Sr., in his 76th year. 
Funeral from St. Paul's Church WEDNESDAY, 30th,at 4 o'clock p.m.  Friends 
and acquaintances invited.

The funeral of the late C.L. Upshur took place from St. Paul's Episcopal 
Church yesterday afternoon and was attended by a large number of people.  
Rev. Beverly Tucker conducted the services and the remains were interred in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Walter F. Irvine, Capt. Barry, 
Col. Phillips, Samuel Puller, Thomas H. Brown, Major Myers, Capt. John R. 
Ludlow.
