Virginian Pilot December 20, 1997

Henry Walker Upshur, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-
grandfather, died Dec. 18, 1997, at his residence.
Born in Portsmouth, he had retired as a mail and express traffic manager from 
Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Frances D. Upshur; two sons, Cary Dawson Upshur and 
his wife, Arleen, of Virginia Beach, and Henry Walker Upshur Jr. and his 
fiancee, Michaele, of Richmond; two grandsons, Henry Walker Upshur III and 
Richard Channing Upshur, both of Richmond; a great-grandson, Irving Forde Upshur 
of Richmond; and many loving friends.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Elmwood 
Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Talley. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside 
Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
