Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday, April 9, 1939
Clarence Bailey Utley, aged 56, husband of Christophine Clay Utley, died at 2:30 
a.m. yesterday at the residence, 5509 Alson drive.

Besides his wife, Mr. Utley is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Lee Utley;  
four sons, Clarence B. Utley, Jr., of Cooleemee, NC;  Willis C. Utley, of 
Norfolk;  William A. Utley of Langley Field, and Noble L. Utley, of Norfolk;  a 
sister, Mrs. E. H. Goodwin, of Raleigh, and a brother, Phil. M. Utley, of Wake 
Forest, NC.  Mr. . Utley was a native of Raleigh and  had resided in Norfolk 36 
years.  He was engaged in the insurance business.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Holloman-Brown Funeral Home this 
afternoon at 4 o’clock by the Rev. W. C. Gum, pastor of Ghent Methodist Church.  
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
