UTLEY, HEADED BUILDING MATERIALS COMPANY Withers Clay Utley, 80, of the 1200 block of Colonial Ave., retired president of Withers-Clay-Utley Inc., Building Materials, died in his home. Mr. Utley, a Norfolk native, was the widower of Margaret Taylor Utley and was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Norfolk Contractors and Builders Exchange and the National Association of General Contractors. During World War II he served in the merchant marine. He was a Mason and a former member of Khedive Temple and the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club. He is survived by a sister, Mary Lee Scott of Melbourne, Fla. The graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. James W.H. Sell. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
