Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 9, 1945

Francis Joseph Utz, 67, a native of Baltimore and a resident of Norfolk for the 
past 55 years, died Sunday at 5:40 p.m. at the residence, 810 Beale Street. 
Surviving him are two nieces, Mrs. Emily Wilson and Mrs. Mamie Swarthouse, both 
of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. P.C. Blackburn, 
pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.

1945, at 5:40 o’clock p. m., FRANCIS JOSEPH UTZ, in the 68th year of his age. 
Services at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON at 3:30 o’clock. Friends of the family are 
invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
