She died Nov. 15 at her residence at 617 Hull street. She had been in failing health for a number of years and had resided on Hull street more than half a century. The Rev. C. Faulcon delivered the eulogy, using for his text “Watch.” Mrs. Christine Rush, who read the telegrams and papers, sang a solo. Floral tributes were beautiful and many, which served as a symbol of the high esteem in which Mrs. Uzzell was held by her neighbors and friends. Two of Mrs. Uzzell’s children reside in Norfolk. They are Mrs. Aline Hodges who lives at the Hull street address and George B. Uzzell, who lives on Washington avenue. Others of the family who were here for the funeral are Mrs. Captolia Weldon, a daughter, and Edward Smith, a grandson, both of New York City; Mrs. Alease Williams, a daughter, and Sgt. and Mrs. George James, all of Quantico, VA, and a nephew, Andrew Young. Other survivors of the deceased are three sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, several nieces and other relatives.
