Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 20, 1954

Bennie Catania Vaccarella, 71, formerly of Norfolk, died at Catawba Sanatorium 
yesterday morning after an illness of almost 30 years. Prior to his illness, he 
resided in Norfolk for 23 years. He was a native of Cefalu, Sicily. His late 
wife was Mrs. Jennie Estelle Russell Vaccarella.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ann C. Madsen, of Walnut Creek, Calif. and 
Mrs. Fred A. LaBarge, of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Guy W. Vaccarella and Benjamin 
B. Vaccarella, both of Norfolk; two granddaughters and five grandsons.
The body will arrive in Norfolk today and will be taken to the Cox Funeral Home 
pending completion of funeral arrangements.

VACCARELLA, BENNIE CATANIA – At Catawba Sanitarium, Tuesday morning, January 19, 
1954, BENNIE CATANIA VACCARELLA, husband of the late Mrs. Jennie Estelle Russell 
Vaccarella, aged 71 years. Funeral services will be conducted at the Holy 
Trinity Catholic Church FRIDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. Friends of the family are 
invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services at the Cox 
Funeral Home THURSDAY at 8:30 P.M. The family will be at the residence of his 
son, Benjamin B. Vaccarella, 88 Primrose Street, Snug Harbor.
