Mrs. Jennie Russell Vaccarella, aged 47, died at her residence, 308 West Twenty-
ninth street, last night at 9:45 o’clock after an illness of six weeks. She was a 
native of Nags Head, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk 44 years. She was 
the daughter of Mrs. Annie Virginia Ayers Russell and the late James Wilson Miller 
Russell, and wife of Bennie Vaccarella. In addition to her husband and mother,
she

is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eldridge Tadlock and Miss Elena Vaccarella; two 
sons, Guy and Bennie Vaccarella, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Elena Gorman, 
Norfolk; Mrs. G. H. Rettew, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. R. J. Padgett, Richmond; 
one brother, George O. Russell, Norfolk; two grandchildren and several nieces and 
nephews. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Silver Stream 
Council 18, Degree of Pocahontas.
The body will be taken from the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover 
avenue, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services Tuesday morning at 10 
o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
