Norfolk Journal and Guide, Aug 4, 1962
Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Obelia Valentine,59, of 913 Workwood
road at St. John’s AME Zion church.  The Rev. W. L. Hildebrand delivered the
eulogy.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with hale Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.

Mrs. Valentine is survived by her husband, Neal Valentine;  three daughters,
Mrs. Alveta Green and Mrs. Yvonne Johnson of Norfolk and Mrs. Nadine Saxon of
New York City;  a foster daughter, Mrs. Wilhelmenia Harris of Norfolk;  a
sister, Mrs. Edith Derry of New Rochelle, NY;  and 10 grandchildren.
