Final rites were held Sunday for James E. Valentine, 37, of 813 Hayes street, at
Mt. Lebanon Baptist church.  The Rev. F. P. Wise delivered the eulogy.  Burial
was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Valentine was a veteran of World War II and was employed as a longshoreman.
 At the time of his death, he was visiting in New York.

Surviving are his father, Thomas E. Valentine;  three sisters, Miss May
Valentine and Mrs. Velma Sessem, both of Norfolk; and Mrs. Mattie Jones of
Baltimore;  and a brother, Thomas Valentine of Philadelphia.
