The Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 13, 1935 


Frederick Valentine, aged 59 years, husband of Anna Wood Valentine, and son of 
the late Frederick and Anna Holmes Valentine (of New York State), died at 2:45 
o’clock yesterday morning at the residence, 442 Rhode Island Avenue, Colonial 
Place. Mr. Valentine, a native and life-long resident of Norfolk, is survived 
by his wife, Mrs. Anna Wood Valentine; one daughter, Miss Irene G. Valentine; 
two sons, William A. and Frank Mc. Valentine, and one sister, Mrs. F.J. 
Barcroft, of Virginia Beach. Services will be held at the H.D. Oliver’s Funeral 
Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason Street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, 
with the Rev. Henry W. Dowding, rector of the Church of the Ascension, of which 
Mr. Valentine was a member, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
