The deceased leaves a mother, Mrs. Harriett Van Deventer, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Mattie) Wrenn and a younger sister, who was recently married, all of whom reside on Liberty street. The deceased was 51 years old and well and favorably known by a large circle of friends. His untimely death is mourned by many. *************************************************************** A brother, Rev. The services were conducted by Rev. J.W. Mitchell, of the South Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Rev. T.C. Skinner, of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messrs. George Wrenn, John M. Berkley, Lloyd Godwin, J.J. Johnson, Jesse Nichols and Capt. John Wrenn.
