Mary Elizabeth Vasko, 74, went to be with God on March 24, 2003. She was a member 
of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a former Red Cross volunteer.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Vasko Sr. of Norfolk; six children, 
Barbara A. Vasko of Norfolk, Theresa M. Parten and her husband, Paul, of Virginia 
Beach, Michael J. Vasko Jr. of Fredonia, Ky., Anthony G. Vasko of Hampton, Stanley 
F. Vasko of Norfolk and Thomas V. Vasko of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Sydney 
Johnson and her husband, Don, of Middletown, Calif., and Vinamae Maize of 
Richmond; and one brother, Jack Reed of Buxton, N.D. She is also survived by 
numerous nieces and nephews.

Our ladybug will always be remembered as "the best mom in the whole wide world".

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. Burial will follow in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach chapel, is handling
