Virginian Pilot October 7, 1965

Anthony N. Vatala, 66, husband of Mrs. Mabel Vatala, died Wednesday in his home 
at 3532 Bow Creek Blvd.
A native of Messina, Italy, he lived here two years. He was a member of St. 
Nicholas Catholic Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles R. Peltier of 
Virginia Beach, Mrs. Marie Marshall of Danville, Ark. and Mrs. Antionette Clark 
of Sun Valley, Calif.; a son, Philip Vatala of North Hollywood, Calif.; three 
brothers, John Vatala of Brooklyn, Joseph Vatala of Messina, Italy and Louis 
Vatala of New York; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, to Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church for a funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be 
in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral apartments 
Friday at 7:30 p.m.

VATALA, ANTHONY – At the residence, 3532 Bow Creek Boulevard, Virginia Beach, 
Wednesday, October 6, 1965, at 2 p.m., ANTHONY VATALA, husband of Mrs. Mabel 
Vatala and son of the late Phillip and Mrs. Clara Vatala, in the 67th year of 
his age. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Norfolk, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services Saturday at 10 a.m. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
