He died March 20 at his home. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Fitchett Funeral Home. Mr. Vaughan was a native of Hertford county, NC. He was a deacon in Community Baptist Church in Waterloo. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ethel M. Outlaw of Jessup MD. and Mrs. Susie Jones of Chesapeake; five sons, Vernon and Gernie Vaughan of Norfolk, Columbus, Eley and Eugene Vaughan of Jessup; two half sisters, Mrs. Lillie Vaughan of Portsmouth and Mrs. Hester Lewis of Conway NC, and two half brothers, Johnnie and Henderson Barnes of Conway.
