Virginian-Pilot March 16, 1948
Joseph Thomas Veale, 72, died Sunday in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness. 
He was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and was retired from the Department of 
Public Works.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. C. Montoya, of San Diego, Calif., and four 
grandchildren
The body was removed to the funeral home of Paul B. Warren and Son. Funeral 
services were conducted privately yesterday at 1 p.m. at the grave in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery by the Rev. Richard H. Rivard, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church.
