Ledger-Star June 26, 1916
Samuel F. Veale, thirty-six years old, a life-long resident of this city, died 
this morning, at 6 o’clock, at the Protestant Hospital, after an illness of 
several months. He was the son of the late J. P. and Mary Veale. He is survived by 
two children. Vincent D. Veale and Helen Louise Veale; a sister, Mrs. E. L. 
Barnett, of New York, a brother, Thomas Veale, of this city, and an uncle, Samuel 
C. Phillips, also of Norfolk. The funeral occurs at 4 p.m. tomorrow, at Oliver’s 
funeral apartments, 610-612 E. Freemason street, Rev. Father T. E. Waters 
officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s cemetery.
