January 9 - Samuel Veale, aged 70 years, one of the best known Adams Express agents in the East, dropped dead on the street here tonight while returning from his office at the local headquarters of the company. Mr. Veale for fifteen years was the Norfolk and Old Point Comfort Va. agent for the Adams Express Company and he was a well known throughout the South. He was born in Norfolk, Va., and served in the Confederate army during the civil war. He came to Baltimore about a decade ago and was associated with the local office in the money order division. Tonight while returning to his home on Madison Avenue, he dropped to the sidewalk and died from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Veale had never before suffered from any illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Catherine Veale and three children. A son, Frank B. Veale, lives in Richmond and his two daughters, Mrs. C. N. Thayer and Miss Margery Veale, live in this city.
