                       HERBERT VELLINES DIES OF INJURIES

             Man Hurt More Than Month Ago In Auto Accident Succumbs

Herbert A. Vellines, who was injured on Monticello Avenue by an automobile on 
July 13 last and who has been in a serious condition ever since, died last night 
at St. Vincent's Hospital at 8:50 o'clock. Mr. Vellines was riding a bicycle 
west on Wolfe Street when he was struck at the corner of Wolfe and Monticello 
Avenues by a truck owned by Bohannon & Co.
Mr. Vellines was a native of Virginia and had been a resident of Norfolk for 
more than thirty-five years. He was in the plumbing business here and was well 
known and highly regarded. He is survived by his widow, one son, Herbert J. 
Vellines, his parents, Captain and Mrs. M.J. Vellines, four sisters, Sister 
Catherine Vellines of Emmitsburg, Md.; Mrs. Herbert Cheatham of Panama, Mrs. 
George Neitzey and Mrs. Maurice Faunce of Washington, D.C.; and one brother, 
Eugene Vellines of this city. The funeral will take place from St. Mary's 
Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 9:30 and interment will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.

VELLINES - On Saturday, August 7, 1915, at 8:50 o’clock p.m., HERBERT A. 
VELLINES, in the 46th year of his age.
Remains will be taken from the residence, No. 431 Granby street, to St. Mary’s 
Catholic church for funeral services TUESDAY MORNING at 9:30 o’clock. Friends of 
the family are invited to attend.
