He was a native of Isle of Wight County, and had lived in Norfolk for thirty-seven years. He was a Confederate veteran and a member of Pickett-Buchanan Camp, U.C.V. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosa Vellines, a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Wilson, of Chattanooga, Tenn. and a son, W.L. Vellines, of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from LeKies Methodist Church, the Rev. J.T. Routten officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
