VIRGINIA BEACH - Donald L. Vellines, 73, a lifelong native of Virginia Beach, 
passed away June 15, 2010 in a local hospital.

He was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in 
Norfolk. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he had a long and successful career in 
the automotive parts sales industry. Donald was active in the community and had 
many friends. He will be forever cherished and missed.

Donald is survived by five daughters, Virginia L. Gray of Tennessee, Sandra L. 
Stapleton and her husband Tom of Oklahoma, Donna L. Stewart and her husband Wes of 
Arizona, Lori A. Childree and her husband Markham Sr. of North Carolina and Susan 
B. Ulmer and her husband Rick of Virginia; 18 grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and other family members.

A service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Brett Carroll. A graveside service will be held at 
11 a.m. Monday, June 21, in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 
at the funeral home Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the
