Andrew Jackson Vellines, 77, died July 4, 2001.

Born in Norfolk, Mr. Vellines retired from the City of Norfolk Park Service. He 
was a Catholic and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond Edward Vellines of Grandy, N.C.; and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Lynnhaven Chapel, by Father Edward L. Richardson. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 
8:30 p.m. today.
