Mr. Vellines was a native of Norfolk and resided with his daughter, Mrs. F.L. Grimstead, at 242 Lucille avenue. Besides Mrs. Grimstead, he is survived by two sons, Cary W. and Charles L. Vellines; a sister, Miss Edna Vellines, all of Norfolk, and a brother, Wesley E. Vellines, of West Virginia, and ten grandchildren. He was employed at the Norfolk Navy Yard for 39 years until his retirement. The body was taken to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
