James Joseph Venuto, 97, passed away in Norfolk, VA, on November 23, 2022.
Born in Norfolk, VA, in 1925, to Joseph and Katie Constantino Venuto, he was a 
lifelong resident of Norfolk and was an accountant for various businesses 
throughout his lifetime until his retirement. He and his wife were members of St. 
Piux X Catholic Church in Norfolk.
He is predeceased by his wife, Audrey DeBaun Venuto; his parents, Joseph and 
Katie; and sisters, Josephine, Catherine, Mary, Lucy, and Angie.
He is survived by his sons, Joe (Teresa), Tom (Kijou), and Jim (Thuy); 
grandchildren, Mary Grace (Kristen), Kate, Claira, and Eric; his sister, Cecelia; 
and many nieces and nephews.
As everyone knows, he was a fantastic storyteller. Both he and his stories will be 
missed by many.
A funeral liturgy will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. on Wednesday, November 
30, 2022, at 6:00 pm. A visitation will follow until 7:30 pm. A graveside service 
will be conducted on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery in Norfolk, VA.
