Born in Norfolk, she was raised in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. She worked at NOB Norfolk during World War II as a ship supply handler. She was a homemaker and member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Fulford Curling and Annie Laurie Williamson Curling; a daughter, Rose Mary Woodhouse and a brother, William Portlock Curling. Survivors include three daughters, Eula Belle Weichel of Florida, Annie Laurie Reitzer and her husband, Wilbur, of Virginia Beach and Virginia Doloras Futch and her husband, James R., of Portsmouth; a son, William Michael Verebely Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Virginia Beach; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Magnolia Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements.
