Virginian Pilot November 12, 1968

Mrs. Elizabeth Callahan Versprille, 69, of 1220 Sheppard Ave., died in a 
hospital Monday.
She was the wife of Jacob Versprille Sr. and a daughter of J.T. and Mrs. 
Elizabeth Furlong Callahan.
A Norfolk native, she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving  besides her husband, are six sons, Jacob Versprille Jr., Robert 
Versprille, Thomas Versprille, Patrick Versprille and Edward Versprille, of 
Norfolk and George Versprille of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Theresa C. 
Sherry of Norfolk; and 15 grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, tonight 
at 7:30.
A funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Wednesday at 
noon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

VERSPRILLE, MRS. ELIZABETH CALLAHAN - In a local hospital, Monday, MRS. 
ELIZABETH CALLAHAN VERSPRILLE, wife of Jacob Versprille, Sr., and daughter of 
the late J. T. and Mrs. Elizabeth Furlong Callahan, in the 70th year of her age. 
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church for funeral services Wednesday at 12 NOON. Burial, St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
