NORFOLK - Nanette T. Versprille was born July 16, 1933, in Knotts Island, N.C., 
the daughter of William Melvin Tatem and Chloe Tatem. She was one of three 
children, her sisters being the late Thelma Garris and Billie Miller, who lives 
with her husband, Richard, in Westfield, Pa.

She attended Norview High School and grew up in the Broad Creek Village section of 
Norfolk. She was a Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. retiree. In 1984, she married Jacob 
Versprille Jr. of Norfolk. They remained a devoted couple all of their lives.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk.

She is survived by her sister, Billie Miller; her stepsons, Jacob Versprille IV 
and Mark Thomas Versprille, and will be loved and missed forever.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Powers officiating. Burial will follow at 
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Norfolk 
Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Sunday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
