Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 28, 1944

Nellie Antoinette Verstynen, age 12 years, daughter of Marius and Mrs. Cora 
Verstynen, of 1029 Tunstall Avenue, died at 10:15 o'clock Sunday night at a 
local hospital. She was a student of St. Mary's Academy and a member of St. 
Mary's Catholic Church. Besides her parents, ,she is survived by two sisters, 
Miss Marie Verstynen, of the U.S. Cadet Nurse's Corps and Miss Antoinette 
Verstynen, of Norfolk, two brothers, S/Sergt. August A. Verstynen, Army Air 
Corps and John A. Verstynen, G. M. 2C., USCG The body was removed to the H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, pending arrangements.

VERSTYNEN, NELLIE ANTOINETTE – At a local hospital, Sunday, November 26, 1944, 
at 10:15 o’clock p.m., NELLIE ANTOINETTE, daughter of Marius and Mrs. Cora 
Creilaars Verstynen, in the 13th year of her age. Remains will be taken from the 
H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial avenue, to St. Mary’s 
Catholic Church for services FRIDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. Friends of the family 
are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
