NORFOLK - Gladys Lorraine Smith Vinson, 72, passed away Feb. 23, 2006, at the
Sentara Careplex Hospital, Hampton.

She was the daughter of the late William and Lexie Smith Sr. She was a graduate
of Booker T. Washington High School, Virginia State University and Norfolk State
University. She was a retired high school history teacher. Mrs. Vinson was
predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Paul; four brothers, William Jr., James,
Robert and Beverly Smith. She is survived by her son, Ronald (Antwanetta); three
granddaughters, Ashley Hankerson, Shakiyla and Lexie Vinson; a grandson, Ronald
Vinson Jr.; and a host of family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery. A
viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Hale Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
