NORFOLK - Joseph Anthony Vita Sr., 82, of 131 Blake Road, the husband of Mrs. 
Josephine Dinofa Vita and a retired barber, died Wednesday in a hospital. He was 
born in Italy and lived in this area most of his life. He was a World War I 
veteran. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Roma Lodge 
554.
Other survivors include two sons, Joseph A. Vita Jr. and John A. Vita of 
Norfolk; and three grandchildren.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, where a Christian Wake 
service will be held tonight at 8. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 
10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Newport Avenue and Painter Street. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
