Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 4, 1939

Giovanni Vita, aged 73, husband of Mrs. Catherine Panella Vita and son of Joseph 
and Mrs. Isabella Panella Vita, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 
4:25 o'clock. Mr. Vita was a native of Italy and a resident of Norfolk 38 years. 
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of that 
church, the Italian Benevolent Society and the Woodmen of the World. Besides his 
wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph A. and Frank Vita; two grandchildren, 
John A. and Joseph A. Vita, Jr. and three sisters ,Mrs. A. Panella and Mrs. M. 
Lascara, all of Norfolk and Mrs. Angelo Masino of Philadelphia.
The body will be taken from the residence, 414 West Nineteenth Street, to Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church for funeral services Monday morning at 11 o'clock. 
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the 
residence Sunday night at 8:30 o'clock.

p.m., GIOVANNI, husband of Mrs. Catherine Panella Vita, and son of the late 
Joseph and Mrs. Isabella Panella Vita, in the 74th year of his age. Remains will 
be taken from the residence, No. 414 West Nineteenth street, to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services MONDAY MORNING at 11 o’clock. Friends of the family 
are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
