Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 1, 1929

Joseph Voight, aged 64, died yesterday afternoon at 1:40 o'clock at the 
residence, 632 Redgate Avenue. He was a native of Nansemond County and had been 
a resident of Norfolk for 25 years and was prominent in business affairs of the 
city. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lillian C. Voight, he is survived by three 
daughters, the Misses Jessie, Lillian and Marion Voight; one son, Joseph Voight 
Jr.; one granddaughter, Margaret Wright, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. T. 
M. Mathias, of Corapeake, N.C.; Mrs. J.E. White, also of Corapeake; Mrs. E.C. 
Jordan, of Baltimore and one brother, J.B. Voight, of Norfolk.
Mr. Voight was a member of Norfolk Lodge, No. 38, B.P.O. Elks.  Funeral services 
will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be 
in Elmwood Cemetery.
