Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 15, 1931

Mrs. Carrie Ricks Voight, widow of Robert Palmer Voight and daughter of the late 
James Robert and Annie Milhado Ricks, died yesterday morning at 1:45 o'clock at 
the residence, 8 Mottu Apartments, 623 Fairfax Avenue. She was a native and 
lifelong resident of Norfolk. Surviving her are three daughters, Miss Annie 
Voight, of Norfolk; Mrs. John J. Bryant, of Chicago, and Mrs. Chauncey 
Shackford. of Newport, R.I.; one son R. Stedman Voight, of Norfolk; three 
grandchildren, Chauncey Shackford, Jr., Ena Shackford and Anne Jay Bryant.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon with 
the Rev. D.W. Howard, D.D., rector of St. Luke's Church, officiating. Interment 
will be private in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends are requested by the family to omit 
flowers.
