Virginian Pilot Monday February 16, 1970

Cornelius Lester Voliva, 84, of 121 Abilene Ave., the husband of the late Mrs. 
Ella Mae Barnes and a son of Jessie and Mrs. Mate Parrisher Voliva, died in a 
hospital Sunday at 1 a.m.
A native of Columbia, N.C., he lived here 40 years. He ws a member of Woodland 
Heights Baptist Church and was retired from Ford Motor Co.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hannaberry of Fairfield, N.J., Mrs. 
Mary Roughton and Mrs. Carol Shelton of Norfolk, and Mrs. Louise Martin of 
Annandale; a son, Herman F. Voliva of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Liverman of 
Chesapeake; a brother, Shafter Voliva of Columbia; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-
grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River 
Road, Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Paul D. Moore of Woodland Heights Baptist 
Church. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
