It was a great shock to her many friends, and to the many friends of her 
family, when it was announced that Mrs. Ella Waddy, beloved wife of Col. John 
R. Waddy, had died yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock, aged 47 years. Mrs. Waddy 
was a lady of many social and christian graces, retiring, yet most attractive 
in person and disposition, and greatly beloved by all who knew her. 

Her death was occasioned by paralysis of the brain, and though she had not been 
in strong health for some weeks, her illness was brief and her death a great 
surprise. The funeral will take place today at 3 p.m. from the Second 
Presbyterian Church, of which she was a devoted member.
